The firm’s Real Estate and Land Use Practice Group covers a broad range of real estate and land use matters. Our attorneys offer considerable experience on a wide variety of real property transactions and regularly advise developers, merchant homebuilders, private landowners, buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.

The attorneys in this practice group have experience in the following types of real estate transactional and land use matters:

Acquisitions and Disposition of Real Property 

We serve our clients in broad ranges of complex real estate acquisition and disposition matters including the purchase and sale of commercial, industrial, mixed-use projects, agricultural and raw land for residential, commercial and agricultural development. This includes structuring, negotiating and documenting all aspects of these transactions as well as performing due diligence activities including title and survey review and facilitating the closings for such transactions.

Commercial Leasing

We provide representation to both landlords and tenants in structuring, negotiating and documenting all aspects of a wide range of lease and sublease transactions including office, industrial, retail, and agricultural leases. The attorneys in our Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group have extensive experience in handling and advising our clients in connection with unlawful detainer actions involving many types of properties as well as other landlord/tenant disputes over breaches of lease covenants.

Land Use

Our land use practice focuses primarily on assisting our clients to obtain land use entitlements and structuring, negotiating and drafting of development agreements, cost-sharing agreements, infrastructure funding credit and reimbursement agreements, right of way and utility easement agreements, and conservation easement agreements all with a focus towards allowing our clients to successfully develop their projects. This practice group also assists its clients with Mello Roos district formation and bond issuances for the financing of infrastructure. Our attorneys have worked closely and have cultivated productive relationships with governmental agency staff and a wide variety land use consultants throughout the Sacramento region which we believe is necessary to assist our clients in achieving their goals.
