SUMMARY

Martin Steiner’s practice is devoted to real estate transactions, land use and public infrastructure financing. His practice includes negotiating complex purchase and sale transactions on behalf of land developers and builders, negotiating development agreements for developers with cities and counties, assisting with formation and funding of public infrastructure financing districts and processing of land use entitlements.

Martin graduated from the University of California at Davis in 1976, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Juris Doctor and Masters in City Planning from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983. He has been practicing law at Hefner, Stark & Marois, LLP since 1983 and became a partner of the firm in 1990.

Martin has represented numerous builders and developers of all sizes, as well as financial institutions, sellers, buyers, investors and business owners. Some of his major projects and clients include BBC Roseville Oaks Hewlett-Packard Master Plan, Folsom Plan Area, Placer Vineyards Specific Plan, FedEx Ground Package System, Plumas Lake Specific Plan, North Vineyard Station, Ione Bond Restructuring, Carefree Natomas, North Roseville, Northwest Roseville and Stoneridge Specific Plans, and Temple Coffee.

PERSONAL ACTIVITIES & AFFILIATIONS

In addition to his real estate law practice, Martin has served our community on a wide variety of boards and committees, including the Food System Action Plan Champions Advisory Committee, Past Chair and Board of Directors of the Sacramento Urban League, Past Chair, current Treasurer and Board of Directors of Broadway Sacramento, and Chair of the Board of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation.
